The University of Montana does not require ACT/SAT test scores for admission.

Also, remember to ask for a final high school transcript after graduation. Your graduation date and final GPA must be included on the transcript.
The Montana Board of Regents of Higher Education no longer requires ACT or SAT test scores for campus admission.

What Are The Admission Requirements For the University of Montana?
To be admitted to the University of Montana in 2024, you must fulfil at least one primary requirement and all college preparatory requirements.
Primary Requirements
A 2.50 cumulative grade-point average
or
A grade point average in the top half of your high school graduating class
College Preparatory Requirements
You must complete the following college preparatory requirements to enrol in the Montana University System:
- English classes for four years
- Math for three years, including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. In their senior year of high school, students are encouraged to take a math class.
- Three years of social studies, one year of global studies, one year of American history, and one year of government or another third-year course (i.e., economics, psychology, sociology).
- Laboratory science for two years. Earth science, biology, chemistry, or physics are all required. The second year may be spent studying one of these sciences or another college preparatory laboratory science.
- Foreign language (preferably two years), computer science, visual and performing arts, or vocational education (two years).
Proficiency Requirements
Students must demonstrate readiness in mathematics and writing to be fully admitted to the University of Montana (without conditions or provisions).
Students typically demonstrate their readiness by meeting at least one criterion in each of the proficiency requirement sections:
Standards for Temporary Mathematics and Writing:
Students may demonstrate proficiency in Mathematics and writing as follows from April 16, 2020, to September 1, 2021
Mathematics:
A cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher; or A cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher AND a C or better in Algebra II.
Writing:
A cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher; or A cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher AND a C or higher in an 11th grade English course.”
Math Proficiency Requirements
A 22 on the ACT math section or a 27.5 on the SAT math test (520 on SAT math for tests before March 2016) or a three or higher on the AP Calculus AB or BC exam or completion of a Rigorous High School Core that involves four years of math with C grades or higher or a four on the International Baccalaureate calculus exam.
Writing Proficiency Requirements
A score of 18 on the ACT Combined English/Writing section, or a score of 19 on the new ACT Writing Test Subscore (score of 7 on the old scale of 2-12), or a score of 25 on the SAT Writing/Language Test (440 on SAT Writing for tests before March 2016), or a score of 7 on the SAT Essay Subscore (for tests prior to March 2016), or a score of 3 on the AP English Language or English Literature.
However, if a student does not demonstrate full readiness prior to New Student Orientation, he or she will be expelled.
Before completing 32 credits or three semesters, students must achieve full admission status by completing at least one college-level mathematics and college-level composition course with grades of C- or better.
