 King-Morgridge Scholars Program

The King-Morgridge Scholars Program is an exceptional opportunity for enterprising, creative, and dedicated young adults who want to use their talents to help alleviate poverty. King-Morgridge Scholars will come from Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, South, and Southeast Asia, and will be chosen for their drive, academic success, and commitment to addressing poverty in their home countries.

Selected scholars will be awarded a full-time, four-year/eight-semester scholarship to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which will cover tuition and fees, on-campus room and board, health insurance, airfare, and a stipend for miscellaneous expenses. This endowed program will provide up to six scholarships each year thanks to the generous gifts of the King and Morgridge families.

This scholarship is only available once a year, and only first-year, undergraduate degree-seeking students are eligible.

Selection Process

Candidates must submit an undergraduate first-year application to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as the scholarship-specific application found on the Wisconsin Scholarship Hub, to be considered for the King-Morgridge Scholars Program (WiSH). For full consideration, both applications must be submitted. A committee will review applicants once all items have been received.
