The McCall MacBain Scholarship is a full graduate scholarship at McGill University. Any master’s degree at McGill as well as a second-entry professional undergraduate program (such as law, medicine, or dentistry) will have their tuition and fees paid for by the award.
McCall MacBain scholars are expected to bring openness and dedication to mutual learning. You will interact with one another as a cohort of scholars at annual summer retreats, biweekly seminars, monthly speaker series, an annual Principal’s Lecture, workshops, and other events. all while attending school in one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse cities in the world.
You will be able to enrol in a master’s or second-entry professional degree program at McGill University as a McCall MacBain Scholar with full funding. The scholarship includes living expenses of CAD 2,000 per month during academic terms, tuition and fees for the entire typical length of the master’s or professional program, and a relocation allowance for moving to Montréal.

Level/Field of Study
If you intend to apply for admission to a full-time master’s or second-entry professional undergraduate program at McGill University, you may submit a McCall MacBain Scholarship application. Programs that are only open to Summer applicants are also acceptable. The program must be at least 45 credits long and primarily take place on the downtown or Macdonald campuses of McGill University.
Second-Entry Professional Undergraduate Degrees
Programs not covered by the McCall MacBain Scholarships include joint degree programs, executive master’s degrees, PhDs, and graduate certificates. If you are in your qualifying year, you may apply to McGill for their upcoming master’s degree at the beginning of your qualifying year.

Financial Coverage
Up to 20 Canadians (citizens, permanent residents, and refugees) and 10 foreign applicants will be chosen for the McCall MacBain Scholarship.
If you apply for the McCall MacBain Scholarship, you may also be eligible for other prizes. Candidates who stand out during the interview process will be given a chance to win one of nearly 80 finalist and regional awards.
Up to 30 Finalist Awards worth $10,000 each and up to 28 Regional Awards worth $5,000 will be available to Canadian applicants. While Regional Awards can be used at any public university in Canada, Finalist Awards can be applied toward full-time master’s or professional studies at McGill.
20 International Finalist Awards ($20,000) are available to all other applicants, including U.S. applicants. The international finalist awards can be used to study at McGill full-time for a master’s or a professional degree.
Deadline for the McCall MacBain Scholarship
For Canadian and American applicants, the deadline is September 21, 2022, and for other international students, it is August 25, 2022.
