The Top University of Alabama at Birmingham UAB Scholarships for All
The University of Alabama at Birmingham is proud to offer different UAB scholarships and other financial aid opportunities to both new and existing students. Students interested in these scholarships should use the Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool (BSMART) to complete the general scholarship application. When you complete the general application, you are submitting your information to numerous departments on campus for scholarship consideration. Scholarships in BSMART will be posted on September 1st, but applicants can start filling out the general application on August 1st.

UAB Scholarships for All
UAB International Scholarship
The UAB International Scholarship, worth $7,500 per year, is open to applicants who are first-year, full-time, degree-seeking undergraduate students at UAB. To be automatically considered for this prize upon admission to UAB, students must complete all of the following requirements:
- Graduate from a secondary or high school with a minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 (up to 2 years prior to admission).
- Have not enrolled in postsecondary education
- Plan on having an F-1 visa.
The GPA under consideration will be the cumulative GPA at the time of acceptance. All scholarships are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are renewable for a total of four years (or eight academic semesters). Students who are receiving government scholarships or other forms of external assistance are ineligible for this award.
To be considered for scholarships, students must be accepted to UAB by the following deadlines:
- For the June intake, the deadline is April 1.
- For the August intake, the deadline is May 1.
- The deadline for the January intake is November 1st.
Transfer Presidential Scholarship
The Transfer Presidential Scholarship at UAB is open to Alabama residents who are presently enrolled in community institutions. Nominations for this award must be sent directly to UAB from the community college in order to be taken into consideration. After receiving nominations, UAB will carry out an internal evaluation procedure to make the final decisions. Please be aware that each community college may award up to two students. The Transfer Presidential Scholarship offers a four-semester payment of $6,000 ($12,000 yearly; exclusively for the fall and spring semesters).
Golden Blaze Scholarship
Students who apply for admission with test scores of 27-36 ACT or 1260-1600 SAT and a high school GPA of at least 3.5 will be invited to compete for the Golden Blaze Scholarship by answering a series of questions in Blazer Scholarship Management, and Resource Tool BSMART.
National Scholarships
UAB is a magnet for academically gifted individuals, and we are delighted to have recognized and awarded numerous national and worldwide scholars. Endowed Scholarship
Students who apply for admission with test scores of 33-36 ACT or 1450-1600 SAT and a high school GPA of at least 3.5 will be invited to compete for the Regions, Ireland, or McCallum Presidential endowed scholarships by answering a series of questions in Blazer Scholarship Management and Resource Tool, BSMART.
