San Diego State University (SDSU) Aztec Scholarships for International Students

San Diego State University has over 700 scholarship programs in the SDSU Aztec scholarship to help students achieve their educational goals. Scholarships are made possible by generous contributors to SDSU who believe in higher education and your capacity to succeed academically.

Students can apply for university scholarships through the application platform, “SDSU Aztec scholarship.” The Office of Financial Aid & Scholarships organizes the SDSU Aztec scholarship application and awarding process in collaboration with core committees from the different colleges, departments, and organizations that select recipients.

Students are given financial aid packages based on their needs and merit. After completing the FAFSA and admissions application and being admitted to the university, students are eligible for need-based help. Scholarships and federal and state grants are available, as is the California Dream Act Grant, which permits children brought into the United States before the age of 16 (without proper visas or immigration papers) to be accepted for certain financial grant help at SDSU. Federal student and parent loans, as well as private loans and federal work-study, are all part of student financial aid packages.

Criteria for SDSU Aztec scholarship

Graduate students, nonresidents, international students with an F-1 Visa (Academic Student), and those who attend SDSU Global Campus and SDSU Imperial Valley are all encouraged to apply. Students who are undocumented and have AB540 status are also eligible. To be considered for Aztec Scholarships, students must be enrolled in a degree, credential, or qualified certificate program for the upcoming academic year.

Current SDSU students should submit their general application by the priority deadline to be considered for the greatest amount of scholarships feasible.

Incoming Students

Students who have been admitted and have completed their Intent to Enroll may log in to Aztec Scholarships during the application process. Important: In order to be matched to and given any Aztec Scholarships, new students must submit their Intent to Enroll.

Note that:

Aztec Scholarships may present you with a list of recommended (“apply-to”) scholarships after you submit your general application based on a mix of data from the student information system, the financial aid system, and the responses from your general application. In order for your application to be complete, you must submit extra information by the indicated date for these recommended scholarships. Please carefully study the criteria for these scholarships, because even if you fulfil the fundamental eligibility requirements (such as major, GPA, or class level), you may not meet the particular requirements to be eligible.

Only apply for scholarships for which you meet all of the eligibility requirements. Do not be alarmed if you do not receive a list of recommended scholarships or if your list is limited, as the majority of Aztec scholarships are auto-match.

Deadline for the SDSU Aztec scholarship

Aztec Scholarships will accept general applications from April 18, 2024, to August 5, 2024, for scholarships in the 2024 school year. Current students and new students who have registered their intent to enrol have a priority deadline of May 13, 2024.

Application Process for the SDSU Aztec scholarship

For students, the application process is straightforward and quick. Aztec Scholarships automatically analyzes eligible applications based on university and application data. Afterwards, distributes them to SDSU scholarship committees for award consideration. Scholarship committees are often made up of university academics and/or personnel from the academic program or campus group closest to the scholarship. Staff personnel from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships do not serve on any scholarship committees.

FAQ

How are recipients chosen?

To manage the selection process, SDSU policy established a core scholarship committee within each college/division as necessary. The core scholarship committee and their subcommittee review committees are in charge of awarding scholarships. Scholarship committee members are appointed by the University or an auxiliary organization, not a donor, and no combination of donors or donor advisors (or related persons) directly or indirectly controls committees, according to CSU Scholarship Administration criteria.

Can I apply for scholarships listed under “Ours” on Aztec Scholarships?

Please do not apply for any of the scholarships listed in the “Ours” section of Aztec Scholarships. This is a list of all available scholarships at SDSU; many of them may not be available to you. Kindly concentrate solely on your “Recommended” scholarship list, as the system has already confirmed that you meet the basic eligibility standards based on your answers from the general application and/or your student information data (major, GPA, etc.).

Is a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application required for SDSU Aztec Scholarship consideration?

Although we have a few of scholarships that are exclusively accessible to students with financial needs as assessed by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, the bulk of Aztec Scholarship is not need-based. To be considered for scholarships that require financial need, you must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application between October and March of each year.
