New Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship Available

The Teen Alzheimer’s Awareness Scholarship from the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) provides financial assistance to college-bound high school seniors who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Applicants must write a 1,500-word essay describing the impact of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia-related illness on themselves, their families, or their communities, as well as what they have learned as a result of it. The essay scores are used to determine the winners. The grand prize winner will receive $5,000, with runners-up receiving additional prizes. Since its inception, the program has awarded more than $350,000 in college scholarships.
