11 NAACP Scholarships for Excellent US Students
As part of its Inspire Initiatives, the NAACP scholarships are provided for a variety of funding opportunities to exceptional and qualified students pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees. The scholarships’ dollar values, academic specializations, and age ranges. The NAACP is happy to offer educational opportunities, whether you are a high school senior about to graduate, a current undergraduate or graduate student, or you are just starting your professional career.
NAACP Scholarship Eligibilty/Requirements
The following are required for this NAACP scholarship
- Sign up to be an NAACP member. Join the NAACP right away if you are not already a member.
- Be a person of colour or Black.
- be accepted into or currently enrolled full-time at a U.S. college or university.
- To qualify for any available NAACP scholarships, you must be a graduating high school senior or an undergraduate.
- have a grade point average of at least 3.0 out of a possible 4.0.
- being a citizen or resident of the US.
NAACP Scholarship for You
1. Uplift Scholarship
The Uplift Scholarship is one of many financial aid options offered by the NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives to Black students and students of colour. To exceptional and qualified students pursuing undergraduate degrees, we provide scholarships. We advance initiatives to ensure equity in educational opportunities that equip students for success in school, the workplace, and life thanks to the generosity of our donors.
This scholarship opportunity does not renew.
2. Dr William Montague Cobb Scholarship
The NAACP National Board approved the NAACP National Health Committee’s recommendation, and the NAACP National Board established the W. Montague Cobb Award to honour Dr Cobb’s extraordinary social justice work over a 50-year period. From 1976 to 1983, Dr Cobb presided over the NAACP as its president.
National
The NAACP National Health Committee presents the Dr W. Montague Cobb Award each year to a deserving person in recognition of exceptional achievement on a national level in the fields of health and social justice advocacy, health education and promotion, or health fundraising and research. Each year at the NAACP Annual Convention, this honour is given to a chosen recipient.
State
The NAACP National Health Committee presents the Dr W. Montague Cobb Award each year to a distinguished state health committee chair in honour of exceptional accomplishments in the state in the areas of health and social justice advocacy, health education and promotion, or health fundraising and research. Each year at the NAACP Annual Convention, this honour is given to a chosen recipient.
Individual
The NAACP National Health Committee presents the Dr W. Montague Cobb Award each year to a deserving member of the community in recognition of exceptional achievement in the fields of health and social justice advocacy, health education and promotion, or health fundraising and research. 3. NAACP Creative Sole Scholarship
The NAACP Creative Sole Scholarship Powered by Vans is one of many financial aid options provided by the NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives to Black and students of colour. To exceptional and qualified students pursuing undergraduate degrees, we provide scholarships. We advance initiatives to ensure equity in educational opportunities that equip students for success in school, the workplace, and life thanks to the generosity of our donors.
4. NAACP x Tides Collective Action Fund
Only NAACP State/State-area Conferences or Units that have successfully raised funds for the NAACP x Tides Collective Action Fund may use this NAACP scholarship. When requesting a payment from the NAACP x Tides Collective Action Fund, use this application.
5. Society Awards Scholarship
Through NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives, Black and students of colour have access to a variety of financial aid options, including the NAACP x Society Awards Scholarship. Outstanding undergraduate students who meet the qualifications can apply for this NAACP scholarship. With the help of donors, NAACP is able to make progress in its efforts to guarantee that all students have access to quality education that will enable them to succeed in the classroom, at work, and in life.
6. ‘All American: Homecoming’ Grand Slam HBCU Scholarship Powered by Warner Bros. Television Group
The “All American: Homecoming” Grand Slam HBCU & NAACP Scholarship, powered by Warner Bros. Through the NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives, Black students and students of colour have access to a variety of funding options, including Television Group. NAACP provides this scholarship to individuals pursuing undergraduate degrees at Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCUs). Through the kindness of our donors, we advance initiatives to guarantee equity in educational opportunities that equip students for success in school, the workplace, and life.
7. Write Her Future Scholarship
The NAACP Inspire Initiatives offer a variety of financial aid options to Black students and students of colour, including the Write Her Future NAACP Scholarship Powered by Lancome. The target audience for this scholarship is female undergraduate students who identify as Black or another student of colour. The candidate must be a senior in high school who is enrolling in a 4-year academic programme at a tax-exempt institution. Additionally, candidates must be enrolled in the ACT-SO programme and be a member of the NAACP. Students must be available to travel between July 14 and July 17, 2024, if they are given the NAACP scholarship.

8. Empowering a Better Tomorrow Scholarship Powered by Walmart
The Walmart-sponsored NAACP scholarship programme aims to help those looking to reintegrate into society by providing a pathway for those who want to further their education. Formerly jailed individuals or those who have just been convicted and served their sentence are eligible for this scholarship. Individuals that demonstrate leadership abilities, a willingness to embrace change, and a desire to give back to their community will be given this scholarship.
9. James Weldon Johnson Scholarship
One of the various financial aid options offered to Black students through the NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives is the James Weldon Johnson NAACP Scholarship powered by Phi Beta Sigma. To exceptional and eligible individuals pursuing undergraduate degrees, NAACP provides scholarships. It advances initiatives to achieve equity in educational opportunities that equip kids for success in school, the workplace, and life thanks to the generosity of donors.
10. Katherine McIntyre Scholarship
The Katherine McIntyre Scholarship is one of several financing possibilities for Black students offered through the NAACP scholarship. NAACP provide scholarships to outstanding and eligible undergraduate students. It encourages efforts to achieve equity in educational opportunities that equip students for success in school, job, and life thanks to the generosity of donors.
11. Hubertus W. V. Willems Scholarship for Male Students
Applicant must be a male, a US citizen, and be applying to or accepted at an approved college (excluding proprietary schools) in the US. Undergraduate applicants must be full-time students, but graduate applicants can be full-time or part-time. Graduate students must have a GPA of 3.0 and undergraduate students must have a GPA of 2.5 (C+) (B). Membership in the NAACP is highly desirable, and the applicant must demonstrate financial necessity.
