Tocris Scholarship Program is a scholarship program designed by Tocris for students that intend to study health-related courses (Life Science, Medical Science, Health Science) in college. This scholarship is open to students from the United States of America, Canada and European countries.

The scholarship is meant for students that are pursuing or want to pursue their bachelor’s degree in Health-related fields of study (Life Science, Medical Science, Health Science).
Host Nationality
This scholarship is hosted in the USA but it is not strictly meant for Americans. Tocris used to be a UK firm. But it changed its headquarters to Minneapolis, MN, USA, ever since R&D Systems bought it.
Eligibility for the Tocris Scholarship Program
This scholarship is open to undergraduates of recognised universities in the US, Europe and Canada studying for a full-time minimum of a 4-year degree course in health sciences. If you fall into this category, then you can apply.
It is also open to high school or secondary school students who have gotten admission to study health sciences or related courses at the university for a full-time minimum of a 4-year degree course in health sciences. You just need to provide proof that you are enrolled/accepted in a University before the deadline.
Furthermore, this scholarship does not require any English certifications to apply.
Requirements to Apply for Tocris Scholarship Program
However, you need to write a personal statement of 500 words or less on the impact you strive to make using a degree in your field of interest. Also, write a written statement of 500 words or less on why you chose this field of study.
You also need to upload your decree declaration in jpg, jpeg, png, pdf, doc, or Docx format. This declaration should not be more than 50MB. This is any document that confirms that you have been accepted/enrolled at the college/university mentioned in your application.

Selection Process
The selection for this scholarship is merit-based. A committee takes charge of reviewing the applications before a winner is chosen.
After the selection process, Tocris will notify only the winner via mail. However, it will be published on their website for everybody to see.
Scholarship Award
The Tocris Scholarship Program awards a whooping $1,500 scholarship award (or international currency equivalent) twice a year for the fall and spring sessions. Two persons win the award every year as both are mutually independent of each other.
Deadline for the Tocris Scholarship Program
This scholarship program is currently open for those that want to benefit in Fall but the application portal will be closed by July 2024.
It will reopen in August and run through December 2024 for the next batch. that is if you want to be a beneficiary by Spring next year.
Tips to Win the Tocris Scholarship Program
Ensure you do a very good job in your essays. Recall that you are required to write two essays for the purpose of this scholarship. One is a personal statement of intent, and the other is about why you chose this field of study. You are not the only person applying, one person will be selected from the multitude that will be applying from different countries, hence your application needs to stand out.
