Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship for Top Students
The Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship was established to specifically support research and education projects organised by Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR). The purpose of this fund is to help Erasmus University grow and thrive. The scholarship is intended for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to pursue a Master’s degree in the Netherlands. The EEA is made up of the EU countries as well as Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway.
Level/Field of Study
This scholarship is designed for students who wish to obtain their Master’s degree in the Netherlands in any of the following faculties;
- Erasmus School of Law
- Erasmus School of Economics
- Erasmus School of History, Culture and Communication
- Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management
- Rotterdam School of Management
- Erasmus School of Social and Behavioural Sciences.
Host Nationality
The Holland Scholarship is supported by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science, as well as Dutch research and applied science universities.
Eligibility for Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship:
- be considering enrolling in a master’s programme at Erasmus University Rotterdam;
- have been considered a high-achieving student;
- be unable to fund your own studies

Requirements to Apply for Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship
Candidates must be prepared to submit the following documents in order to apply for the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship:
- CV (in PDF format)
- Motivation letter (max. 1 A4, in PDF format)
- Transcripts of academic work (If you have not yet completed your Bachelor’s degree, the current year’s average grade until the date of application applies.)
- Financial statement: a description of your financial situation and how you intend to fund your studies if you are awarded the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship.
Other specific requirements differ depending on the faculty.
How to Apply for Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship
Applications for the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarship must be submitted before the deadline and will be processed only after your application for a degree programme in any of the aforementioned faculties has been deemed complete and assessed.
Applications must also be submitted via the EUR Admissions Portal (not via email!). When applying for a degree programme, you can request an application for the Erasmus Trustfonds Scholarships.
Scholarship Award
The student will receive €15.000 to help with housing, living expenses, and the statutory fee.
The scholarship is valid for one academic year. If the student does not graduate within one year, the standard statutory fee will apply for the remainder of the study period.
Erasmus University College

This creates a nice buzz in the area, with plenty to choose from, from quirky shops to interesting but reasonably priced restaurants and cafés.
LUCIA, their first-year residential campus, is only a short bike ride from the majestic building of Erasmus University College. Students will also be able to cycle within 10 minutes to the great Erasmus University campus on the outskirts of the city, where they will be able to access all of the sports and other facilities.
Erasmus University College is truly a city campus in the heart of not only Rotterdam, but also the Netherlands.
